Was this place as dodgy as I was lead to believe as a child?
Such a shame that the council decided to close this place in order to save money, it was a great facility. A portion of the building is currently being used as a Citizens Advice Bureau.
I had some fun times in both of these places back when I used to go “up” town. They’ve long since closed and the buildings remained unused and falling to bits.
The Christmas lights on Ilkeston Market Place, January 2013.
The Bridge Pub on Awsworth Road, Ilkeston, taken back in 2011 when it was looking rather sorry for its self. The building has since been demolished and a care home built in its place.
Taken back in 2012 and on the wall of one of the town center car parks.
I thought I would kick things off with an image of our recently installed Ilkeston wind turbine. Some like it and some don’t, I’m not going to get into a discussion about it here. I will say that it tends to work better if the blades actually turn once in a while.
